Executive Chef Scott Hiraishi is a Managing Partner of The Feeding Leaf, an event and catering company on Hawai'i Island. Having over 20 years of culinary experience, Hiraishi has spent most of those years working alongside his mentor, famed local Chef Sam Choy. Hiraishi obtained his culinary degree from the University of Hawai'i at Hilo – West Hawai'i Culinary Program. Previous to starting his own company, he was most recently the Executive Chef at Sam Choy's Kai Lanai. Hiraishi has also worked at the Five Diamond Four Seasons Resort Hualalai and the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay. With the highest respect for local ingredients, he has devoted the greater part of the past few years building relationships and partnering with ranchers and farmers across Hawai'i Island to promote sustainability and self-sufficiency. He was a featured chef at the Hawai'i Food and Wine Festival, The Taste of Hilo, and a collaborating chef at The Taste of the Hawaiian Range. Chef Hiraishi showcased Grass Fed Hawai'i Island Beef and local Hawai'i Island produce at all of these events.
