Ka’ie’ie (Degree Pathway Partnership)


How do I join?

There are two ways to join Ka’ie’ie.

#1) If you apply and are accepted either to UHM alone or to UHM and KCC simultaneously, and if you then choose to start with KCC as your primary campus, simply complete the University of Hawai‘i – Ka’ie’ie Application and submit it to your Ka’ie’ie Coordinator.

#2) If you apply and are accepted first to KCC and plan to transfer to UHM, start by checking to see whether you meet the transfer criteria. You meet the criteria if you:

  • are pursuing your first four-year undergraduate degree (Bachelors); and
  • have earned at least 12 semester credits or more at KCC in courses that transfer to UHM; and
  • are enrolled in at least 12 additional credits at KCC in courses that transfer to UHM ; and
  • have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 or higher.

If you meet these criteria, complete the Ka’ie’ie Application and submit to your Ka’ie’ie Coordinator. If you do not yet meet these criteria, meet with an academic advisor/counselor to plan how to become eligible.

Once you have joined Ka’ie’ie, you may choose to pay the student activity fees at both campuses, even if you are enrolled at only one campus. Paying activity fees at both campuses will give you access to their cultural, athletic and academic events at both campuses - movies, lectures, concerts, plays, etc.

NOTE: You must pay the activity fees for the campus or campuses where you are enrolled; the fees are proportionate to the number of credits you are taking.
