How do I transfer to UHM?

As a Ka’ie’ie student in good standing, you do not need to complete a System Common Application Form because you are already dual enrolled, but you do have to declare your intent to transfer by the deadlines and you do have to pay the Application Fee to cover the costs of creating your files at UHM.

When you are ready to transfer to UHM and ready to declare UHM as your primary campus, attend an advising appointment with a Ka’ie’ie Coordinator. As a Ka’ie’ie dual-enrolled student, you can transfer to UHM at any time, but to benefit fully from this program, you must complete the following steps by the posted deadlines.

Step #1) Update your academic plan with a Ka’ie’ie Coordinator. If you have not yet met the admission requirements of your intended major, you can still transfer to UHM, but your academic plan should include all remaining requirements and should indicate when you will be eligible to be admitted to your intended major.

Step #2) Sign a Ka’ie’ie Application Form. In order to register with UHM continuing students, you must pay your Application Fee and submit the Application Form by the following deadlines:

For Fall entry, the deadline is February 1.

For Spring entry, the deadline is September 1.

NOTE: If you transfer after these deadlines, you will not be able to register early at UHM as a continuing student; instead, you will register as an incoming transfer student, just before classes begin. If you have any questions regarding your transfer or enrollment status at either campus, see a Ka’ie’ie Coordinator.
