This is a career-laddered program that prepares you for employment assisting physicians in private medical offices and clinics, and hospital outpatient clinics. Upon completion of the Certificate of Achievement, you may continue this course of study to earn an Associate in Science degree in Medical Assisting. Mobile Intensive Care Technician
Upon successful completion of this program, you will acquire the skills and competencies to perform advanced life-support procedures, as listed in Board of Medical Examiners rules for Emergency Ambulance Personnel, including the ability to initiate and continue invasive and non-invasive treatments for surgical, medical, cardiac and psychiatric emergencies; trauma; and airway and respiratory problems.

Nursing
The nursing career-laddered program provides preparation for students to become a nurse’s aide, an adult residential  care home operator, a practical nurse and registered nurse. (Special enrollment requirements for this program. Please consult with an academic advisor.)

  1. A Certificate of Completion program prepares you to work as a nurse aide under the supervision of a licensed practical nurse or registered nurse.
  2. Those who receive nurse's aide certification may also enroll in the Adult Residential Care Home Operator program..
  3. Completion of the nurse aide level is recommended for entry into the Practical Nurse program.
  4. An Associate in Science degree in Nursing prepares you for acute-care nursing in hospitals. Students are eligible to take the licensure exam to be a practical nurse after completing the first year of this program.  Graduates are also eligible for admission to the third year of the Bachelor of Science in nursing program at UH Manoa.

Occupational Therapy Assistant
Learn to work under the supervision of a registered occupational therapist teaching people of all ages the physical and psycho-social skills needed for everyday living.

Pharmacy Technician
As a pharmacy technician, you will assist in the operation of a pharmacy practice under the direction of the pharmacist. After completing the required curriculum for a Certificate of Competence, you will be able to process all types of records and documentations needed to complete a prescription order and be able to list brand and generic names of a minimum of 200 commonly used prescription drugs, their uses, how they work, and side effects, if any; and correlate their actions with the functions of the body systems on which they act.

 A phlebotomy assistant works in a clinical setting or lab drawing blood for testing. The Phlebotomy program includes 64 hours of classroom lecture and laboratory exercises, and at least 100 hours of clinical practicum.
