Free UHCC summer classes for the High School Class of 2020

This summer, the University of Hawai‘i invited the graduating class from all Hawai‘i’s public high schools to enroll in free college courses through the Next Steps: Career Exploration program. More than 1,500 graduates from the Department of Education class of 2020 enrolled in 129 different courses earning between 1-6 college credits over the summer.

In the Career Exploration classes, high school graduates are exploring their career options and discovering the education and training needed to reach their goals. Meet the instructors of Career Exploration classes.

Next Step students are eligible to apply for the Stronger Together Hawai‘i Scholarship. A new $2 million scholarship funded by the Hawai‘i Community Foundation and First Hawaiian Bank. This scholarship is specifically for students who participate in the Next Steps to Your Future initiative. Applications opened on July 15 and will close on August 5, 4pm HST.

Learn about career paths in Hawai‘i

On July 27 and 28, nine University of Hawai‘i campuses will be featuring 53 programs in a virtual program fair. This online fair is a great opportunity to learn more about the amazing and affordable programs offered throughout the University of Hawai‘i System. Over 80 presenters will be featuring programs across seven categories. The fair will feature presentations in Public and Human Services, Industrial Engineering Technology, Business, Health, Natural Resources, Arts and Communication, and Student Support. If you're not able to attend, presentations will be recorded and posted on the site after the event. This virtual fair will be on July 27 and 28, 2020 with sessions running from 9:00-10:00am 10:30-11:30am, and 1:00-2:00pm on both days.
