Getting Started

To help you get started, our office needs to know a few key pieces of information:

Step 1
Identify whether your proposal will be for your campus only or a multi-campus effort. For individual campus proposals, please contact your campus grant writer or the assigned grants officer for your campus at Office of Research Services External link icon. If a multi-campus proposal, then proceed to Step 2.

Step 2
Send a short description of the project idea/concept to the Director . If you know a particular grant that you want to apply for, please also include:

1) the funding agency (Dept. of Ed, U.S. Dept. of Ag, etc.)
2) the title of the program or grant
3) the deadline
4) a link to the Request for Proposal, if you have it
5) the campuses that would be participating, if known, and

Step 3
We will contact you to set up a call to discuss the proposal, or direct you to the best source to help you.

Step 4
If your project has potential for a multi-campus proposal, we will ask you to start the process officially by submitting an Intent to Apply form. This will provide us with a more detailed understanding of the project, and if other campuses are also intending to apply, to coordinate efforts across the system for the best result.
