Private Scholarships
The University of Hawai'i community colleges are supported by alumni, parents and friends in many ways--through annual giving; capital gifts in support of college priorities such as student aid, faculty research and facilities; planned gifts and bequests; and grants and awards from corporations and foundations. These gifts from our supporters go to fund private scholarships and other priorities of the University of Hawai'i. Through private scholarship grants, many students are able to pay for their tuition and other college expenses.
The University of Hawai'i Foundation was established in 1955 to encourage private support for the University of Hawai'i. Today, it is the central fundraising organization for the UH System and is contracted by the Board of Regents to be the sole provider of fundraising and alumni services. The Foundation manages more than 5,000 gift accounts for the benefit of the university and its students.
