The goal of a living wage is to allow employees to earn enough income for a certain standard of living. And just to be clear, the Living Wage we’re talking about here is how much it will cost you (annually) to actually live in Hawai'i; more specifically—the income needed to support an individual or family with the basics.
A living wage is the income a worker needs to earn for the basic necessities such as housing, food, child care, transportation costs, miscellaneous — which includes clothing, as well as taxes to live in Hawai'i.
