This webinar is about understanding sexual violence and victim dynamics. It aims to explain what it means to be trauma-informed and victim-centered, and to better understand victim responses to trauma and how it affects the brain.

This webinar will feature the following speakers:
Amber Barbieri
Amber Barbieri is the Director of Crisis Services with the YWCA of Kauaʻi and has worked for the agency for almost 4 years. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Human Development from Oregon State University. She is currently in a Master’s program with the University of Oklahoma, pursuing a Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree. Amber is passionate about victim advocacy and is eager to become a therapist to continue serving her community.
Melia Schneck
Melia Schneck is the Kauaʻi CC Confidential Advocate and has been in her role since 2022. She grew up on Kauaʻi and graduated from Rollins College with a degree in Public Health.
