List of resources for Lamakū, the University of Hawaiʻi System’s learning management system, as well as other technology tools that support learning and enhance student engagement.
Lamakū
Lamakū, powered by D2L’s Brightspace, is the learning management system of the University of Hawaiʻi System. All UH community college campuses will transition to teaching in Lamakū in Spring 2025. During the transition period, there will be various system and campus-level opportunities to learn about and practice developing courses in Lamakū.
Third-party tools
Third-party tools can streamline faculty workflow and enhance learning by providing students with diverse and interactive experiences. Faculty can request licenses or accounts for third-party tools listed below from the UH System or individual campuses. UH Software and Third-Party Tool Licenses
Adobe Acrobat Pro DC is an application that allows users to view, create, manipulate, print, and manage portable document format (PDF) files. The UH System provides Adobe Acrobat Pro DC software to active UH faculty and staff.
Microsoft 365 is a collection of productivity software, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, and Publisher. UH faculty and staff at select UH System campuses are qualified to download and install the full version of Microsoft 365 applications.
Padlet is a digital education platform that allows users to host and engage in discussions using virtual bulletin boards. The UHCC System provides a limited number of Padlet for Education accounts, which allow faculty and staff to create an unlimited number of Padlet boards and access premium features, such as Magic Padlet.
Zoom is a video conferencing platform that allows users to connect online for video conference meetings, webinars, and live chats. The UH System has a limited number of Zoom “Educational” accounts for faculty and staff, and these accounts give users access to an unlimited number of meetings with a maximum of 300 participants and no time restrictions.
